Fisher HouseFisher House is to the military what Ronald McDonald House is to Civilian America. A Fisher house can accomodate between sixteen and forty-two families and are within walking distance of the nearby treatment facility. The cost of a family staying at Army, Navy and Air Force Fisher Houses is paid by the Fisher House Foundation. Fisher Houses operated by the Department of Veteran Affairs have no cost to family members. Eligibility for staying at a Fisher House is determined by the local treatment facility or military installation. If you are a family member wanting to be near your wounded warrior, contact the Fisher House for more information. Currently there are thirty-eight Fisher Houses and five more are under construction. Volunteers are the lifeblood of a Fisher House even though each house has a fulltime manager on salary. Fisher House locations are listed below.
